Throughout our travels in the past weeks, crops are well up and away. Even a couple of cases of some early crops running up to head already! The early planting, high autumn temperatures and adequate rainfall in the southern areas of the country have seen highly active early plant growth.
In the last week or so the cold temperatures have started to set in, kicking the growing season over into the next phase. Many growers are now hunting down pests that are taking advantage of the early crop vigour.
Coming out of the colder period it is going to be interesting and no doubt challenging managing pest, diseases, nutrient deficiencies and what the spring weather has in store!
